Washington Wizards small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. plans to undergo PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injections to his right knee, league sources tell ESPN.
Oubre, 21, is expected to be able to return to basketball activities in approximately two weeks, sources say.
The second-year forward has been bothered by the knee injury since the opening-round series against the Atlanta Hawks. He had an MRI last week and, according to league sources, no structural damage was revealed.
Oubre told reporters on Tuesday during exit interviews that he had an MRI last week and asked the team not to inform him of the results. He also admitted that he needed to get his knee taken care of soon.
"I definitely have to look into that and see what procedures have to be done," he said, "but for right now I have no clue. I was just going out there and playing for my team."
Oubre played in 12 games this postseason, averaging 5.8 points while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc. Washington was eliminated in the second round of the playoffs in seven games by the Boston Celtics on Monday.
