Marc Gasol tweaks left ankle in Grizzlies' win; X-rays negative

Memphis Grizzlies big man Marc Gasol left the team's 112-98 win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday after injuring his left ankle.

The injury occurred after Gasol got tangled up with DeMarcus Cousins in the third quarter. The injury is not considered serious.

Gasol rolled his ankle while going for a loose ball and quickly departed for the locker room. It was diagnosed as a sprained ankle, and X-rays were negative.

"It hurts, but it's not broken,'' Gasol said. "It's tender right now, so we will take it day-to-day, just like always."

Even before the injury, it was a difficult game for Gasol. He went 0-for-6 from the field and connected on two free throws late in the second quarter for his only points of the game.

Gasol is averaging a career-high 20.1 points per game this season. Gasol missed a significant number of games last season after he broke his right foot in February.
