Five games to watch for Utah Jazz

The NBA released its 2016-17 regular-season schedule on Thursday. As Utah Jazz fans peruse their team's schedule, here are the five games they should circle on their calendar:


Nov. 1: Jazz at San Antonio Spurs

Boris Diaw returns to the Alamo City for the first time in of the 2016-17 season. The veteran forward was a big factor in the Spurs' 2014-15 championship run. Diaw averaged 7.4 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during his five-year stint with San Antonio.

Nov. 12: Jazz at Miami Heat

This game marks Joe Johnson's return to South Beach after spending 38 games, including the playoffs, with the Heat. The 15-year swingman averaged a combined 12.2 points per game with Miami and Brooklyn last season, his lowest since the 2002-03 season.

Dec. 8: Golden State Warriors at Jazz

This will be Utah's first matchup against the star-studded Warriors for the 2016-17 season. They lost all four games against the Warriors last season.

Jan. 10: Cleveland Cavaliers at Jazz

This will be Utah's only game hosting LeBron James & Co. at Vivint Smart Home Arena for the 2016-17 season. The Jazz went 1-1 against Cleveland last season.

Mar. 20: Jazz at Indiana Pacers

This will be George Hill's first game back at Bankers Life Fieldhouse since being traded to Utah in a three-team deal. The 30-year-old point guard averaged 12.3 points, 3.9 and 3.7 rebounds during his five seasons with the Pacers.
