Cavs agree to 1-year deal with James Jones

The Cleveland Cavaliers have re-signed veteran forward James Jones.

Sources told ESPN it's a one-year deal worth $1.5 million - the veterans minimum contract.

Jones is highly respected in the Cavs' locker room and has acted as both a mentor and an example to the team's younger players. It was Jones who had the idea to create a secret trophy to use as a private motivation technique during the playoffs last season.

Jones, who is close with star forward LeBron James, has been a part of six consecutive Finals teams in Miami and Cleveland.

He played in 48 games last season, averaging 3.7 points and shooting 40 percent from the field. This will be his 14th season.
