Indians' Jason Kipnis finds coveted shin guard thanks to social media

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland Indians second baseman Jason Kipnis was in search of a piece of protective gear. So he turned to social media.

On Friday, a day after seeking help via Instagram, Kipnis was rewarded, posting a photo of a white Easton shin guard.

Back in action! Thank you to everyone who reached out to help! #askandyoushallreceive

In his initial post on Thursday, Kipnis explained that he'd lost his shin guard and wasn't able to find a replacement as the model was discontinued.

Kipnis has worn the model since college and said he'd give tickets or memorabilia to anyone who could send him the Easton shin guard he wore. He even offered up signed gear from teammate Francisco Lindor in exchange for a replacement.

Kipnis' post didn't say who sent him the new shin guard, but he said he was thankful for the help he received.
