The Los Angeles Angels say X-rays on star center fielder Mike Trout's shoulder came back negative Thursday. Trout exited Wednesday night's game after taking a fastball to the shoulder from Oakland Athletics reliever John Axford. Trout said the pitch hit his shoulder blade and left him with a sizable, sore welt. "I want to [play], I'll tell you that,'' Trout said Wednesday. "We've got three games left, so I'm going to try to grind it out.'' The Angels (72-87), well out of playoff contention, finish the regular season against the Houston Astros. Trout, the 2014 AL MVP, is hitting .318 with 29 home runs and 99 RBIs in 2016.
