ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- New York Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka has given up four home runs in the same inning against Tampa Bay.
Tanaka was staked to a 7-0 lead entering the bottom of the third Wednesday night when the barrage of four solo homers stated on a leadoff drive by Bobby Wilson. After Tanaka got two consecutive outs, Evan Longoria, Brad Miller and Corey Dickerson hit three consecutive shots.
The four home runs in an inning set a Tampa Bay team record.
Tanaka started play leading the AL with 2.97 ERA.
