Orioles pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez takes oath for U.S. citizenship in Miami

Ubaldo Jimenez first came to the United States as a 17-year old international free agent from the Dominican Republic.

The now 32-year-old pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles pitcher has spent nearly half his life here. On Monday, he became a U.S. citizen at a ceremony in Miami. Jimenez posted a picture of himself next to a replica of the Statue of Liberty on his Instagram.

It has been a busy year for the right-hander. He has gotten married and had the birth of his first child, daughter Jimenvi, in the last 12 months.
