Brewers call up Alex Presley, giving team another CF option

MILWAUKEE -- Alex Presley has been called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs by the Brewers, giving Milwaukee another left-handed option in center field.

He arrived in time for the afternoon game Thursday against Minnesota.

Presley was hitting .344 in nine games in the minors. Presley has played in 329 games in the majors, having made his debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2010.

The Brewers have also used lefties Ramon Flores and Kirk Nieuwenhuis in center. Right-handed hitter Keon Broxton was sent down to Triple-A last week.

Presley takes the roster spot of reliever Tyler Cravy, who was optioned to Colorado Springs after the Brewers beat the Twins on Wednesday night.

Reliever Zack Jones (right shoulder) was moved to the 60-day disabled list to make room for Presley on the 40-man roster.
