This sign represents just how intimidating Ben Hill Griffin Stadium can be. Dubbed The Swamp by Steve Spurrier in the early '90s, it's become one of the toughest, most menacing venues in all of college football.
A swamp is supposed to contain harsh, unrelenting conditions where only creatures that have adapted to such an environment can truly thrive. Gators players and fans take pride in making sure this swamp is just as imposing for the foes that venture in each fall.
This is one of the first signs Gators players look at when they run out onto Florida Field. When they see it, their only thought is to protect their house, while opponents look at it with a hint of discomfort surging through their bodies. -- Edward Aschoff
