Fight Credential: Mayweather vs. Alvarez

Technique
Even given his lack of power, Mayweather has a surprising number of options to win fights. Whether relying on his impenetrable defense, his accurate counterpunching or his innate sense of timing, he has an answer for every challenge. He can change rhythm or confuse his opponent with unexpected wrinkles, and he squeezes in punches at the perfect moment without exposing himself to danger. We expect Alvarez to show improvements that were hinted at in his recent performances (example: better head movement), but he remains a work in progress.
Advantage: Mayweather
