ESPN.com Preseason Power Rankings 2013

18. TCU
The Horned Frogs will be contenders in the Big 12 because of their defense, but they might win it because of the return of their long-lost quarterback. Casey Pachall is back after leaving school four games into last season. When he left, Pachall had 10 touchdown passes to one interception and the Frogs were 4-0. Also back is Waymon James, who led TCU in rushing in 2011 but missed virtually all of last season with a knee injury. Pachall and James should give the Frogs enough offensive firepower to complement a defense headlined by a pair of All-American candidates in end Devonte Fields and cornerback Jason Verrett. The schedule is unforgiving, but if Pachall and James return to form, the Frogs will be good enough to win every game on their schedule. -- Jake Trotter
