Fight Credential

Introduction
Despite the five-year age difference between Alvarez and Trout, their careers have followed similar paths, almost simultaneously. Both are undefeated and have won titles without facing the best fighters in their division. Many believe Alvarez has built his reputation on wins over mediocre fighters. Trout gets criticized for a supposedly boring style and a lack of big names on his own résumé, save for last year's 12-round decision over Miguel Cotto. In the end, Canelo felt the urgency to face the best just as Trout began clamoring for a chance to do the same. Saturday's matchup should send these fighters down divergent paths, with only one of them likely to earn the universal recognition they both crave.
