8. Syracuse
What made the Orange so impressive a year ago -- depth that allowed Jim Boeheim to practically go hockey-line change -- is exactly why Syracuse is back in the top 10 despite losing four of its five starters. Brandon Triche is now joined by Michael Carter-Williams, Rakeem Christmas, C.J. Fair and James Southerland. All played significant roles last season but are ready for their turns in the spotlight. And the Orange add top freshmen Jerami Grant and DaJuan Coleman, plus redshirt Trevor Cooney. That's more than enough for Boeheim to tinker with. Here's the caveat: The Cuse did still lose Scoop Jardine, Kris Joseph, Fab Melo and Dion Waiters. That's not only a lot of points to replace; it's a lot of experience and leadership. For the Orange to soar, the newly minted starters have to slide easily and comfortably into their starring roles. -- Dana O'Neil
