Cotto tiene una muy respetable tasa del 77% de nocauts, comparada con el 62% de Mayweather. Pero su potencia se deja sentir gracias a la acumulación de golpes durante la pelea, y aún cuando ambos tienen una cantidad respetable de victorias por nocaut ante oponentes de renombre, ninguno parece tener el tipo de potencia necesaria para lograr un nocaut de un solo golpe, al menos en este peso.
