ESPN.com's 2011 All-American Team

Lavonte David
Linebacker | NebraskaAfter one of the most impressive debuts in Nebraska history, Lavonte David is primed for bigger things in 2011. The junior college transfer proved he could handle just about anything last season, often serving as Nebraska's only linebacker on the field and making many defensive calls. David recorded a team-record 152 tackles, including 15 tackles for loss. He also was a factor against the pass, finishing second on the team in breakups (10) and sacks (six) and adding seven quarterback hurries. An easy pick for Big 12 Newcomer of the Year, David earned unanimous first-team all-conference honors. He has bulked up a bit for the Big Ten and will lead the league's most accomplished defense.
