Versatility
Although he's often pigeon-holed as a defensive counter specialist, Mayweather has been able to shift into any role or identity he has needed in order to preserve his much ballyhooed unbeaten record. In fact, without this versatility, he never would have come this far. Despite lacking top-end power, Mayweather has proven able to stand and fight if necessary, and utilized that skill against the likes of Jose Luis Castillo, Miguel Cotto and Marcos Maidana. Pacquiao has been much more inclined to fight at one speed, moving in one direction.
