12 Rounds: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-Bryan Vera II

Tenacity
The differences are obvious in this department. Chavez has not yet shown, inside or out of the ring, that he has the character to prevail in the face of adversity. Vera is the opposite, having become known through a tournament ("The Contender" series) where toughness was the greatest asset to get to the top. Vera has overcome hard times and depression on sheer courage and has reinvented himself following a difficult slump from 2008 to 2010 when he lost to James Kirkland, Craig McEwan, Isaac Rodrigues and Max Bursak.
Advantage: Vera
