Technique
Although a bit robotic at times, Kovalev sets up his punches well and is far from a flailing brawler. But he's no match in this category for Hopkins -- an all-time great ring technician. Despite lowering his work rate with age, Hopkins remains an accurate counterpuncher with incredible form and timing. Defensively, his combination of footwork and an ability to move away from punches usually lessens the impact of those that land. Hopkins has few peers when it comes to the idea of hit and not be hit.
