Inside Will Muschamp's Office

There's a photo with a personal message to Muschamp from baseball great Roger Maris, who retired to Gainesville after his career came to a close with the St. Louis Cardinals. Maris co-owned and operated an Anheuser-Busch distributorship in the 1970s and '80s. It was during that time that Maris became a close friend of Muschamp's father, Larry.
Young Will had a mix of fondness and awe whenever he was in Maris' presence. "I always admired him," the coach said, "and he was always good to me when I was growing up. He had the biggest forearms of any human being I've ever seen. But he was a guy that never got his credit for what he accomplished, in my opinion. I always appreciated how he treated people."
