Murray slated to play for queen

WIMBLEDON, England -- The only British singles player left at Wimbledon, Andy Murray, has been scheduled to play the first match on Centre Court on Thursday, when Queen Elizabeth II is expected to attend the tournament for the first time since 1977.

The fourth-seeded Murray's second-round match against Jarkko Nieminen of Finland is to be followed by No. 3 Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark against Chang Kai-chen of Taiwan, and then 2008 Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal of Spain against Robin Haase of the Netherlands.

Not on the schedule released Wednesday by the tournament: defending champion Serena Williams, who has talked at length about practicing her curtsy in case she were to play in front of the monarch.
