In his freshman year, 2010, Bobby Brown -- who appears in this just-dropped Under Armour edit shot at Breckenridge, Colo. -- made tsunami-size waves when he became the first skier to win two Winter X events -- Big Air and Slopestyle -- in the same day. Propelled aloft by his rock solid moves and a never-before-seen switch double misty, Brown rocketed from unknown to competition-legend-slash-trick-inventor in one weekend. Nagged by early season injuries in 2011, the Breckenridge-based skier had a relatively lackluster showing at the last Winter X, taking home one silver medal in Ski Big Air.

But Brown comes into Winter X 2012 with yet another new trick (the triple cork 1440 he learned last spring in Squaw Valley) and a silver medal performance at the Winter Dew Tour last weekend in Killington, Vt. Add to that a better physical condition than a year ago, and Brown is perhaps more a threat to double down in Big Air and Slope at Winter X 2012 than ever before. "I'm feeling great coming into this season," Brown said recently. "My body feels great. I've been going to the gym a lot more. I'm trying to stay strong so I can compete at a higher level."
