• Hot List: Terrence Boyd on the rise

On what was a relatively quiet weekend for national teamers with their clubs, the fact three U.S. veterans returned from various ailments to log 90 minutes for the first time in longer than many may realize is significant. Earning playing time is paramount to Jurgen Klinsmann, of course, and while the Yanks' coach has to be happy that a few of his key players were finally healthy enough to go the distance, he can't be too pleased about the progress, or lack thereof, one of America's most promising youngsters has made in England over the past few months.

On the bright side, another up-and-comer isn't just playing, he's scoring consistently and could be ready to take the next step with the U.S. when Klinsmann's squad reconvenes next month.
