SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras -- Determining what exactly went wrong with the U.S. national team Wednesday in Honduras is a matter of whom you ask. Depending on the source, it was a question of individual breakdowns, adverse playing conditions or tactical deficiencies.
"Too many mistakes in too many areas," Jurgen Klinsmann said after match, getting to the crux of the issue without really solving anything. "Tactically in some ways, individually, and we gave Honduras too many chances, and they took advantage of it."
But the postgame post mortem could just as easily have read something like this: too many players out of position; too many players incapable of maintaining possession or creating offensive impetus.
