COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- It's only natural, following Tuesday's scathing report that brought into question Jurgen Klinsmann's leadership of the national team, to wonder whether perhaps the U.S. coach's job could be in jeopardy should the short-handed Yanks lose Friday's crucial World Cup qualifier here against Costa Rica and again on Tuesday in Mexico.
After all, Klinsmann himself is calling Friday's match a "must win." But even though an 0-3 start in the 10-game final Hexagonal round of qualifying for Brazil 2014 would be the worst-case scenario for the Yanks, Klinsmann's position is safe -- at least for now.
