Who will be on the cover of "NHL 13"?

EA Sports is leaving that decision up to fans thanks to the first ever "NHL" cover vote campaign hosted on NHL.com.

The voting process begins today with a teammate versus teammate round that will run through April 11. After two preliminary rounds, the field will then narrow to a 16-player bracket, with the winning player to be unveiled at the 2012 NHL Awards on June 20 at the Wynn Las Vegas.

"Being the EA Sports 'NHL' cover athlete is an honor that is coveted by many NHL players," said Adam Larry, NHLPA Director of Licensing. "With the EA Sports 'NHL 13' cover athlete being selected by the fans, the honor is now even greater. This vote campaign will be exciting for both the players and the fans, as they will be engaging online, and through social media, while the bracket narrows towards the fans' selection for the cover of 'NHL 13.'"

Players campaigning for their shot at cover glory range from NHL scoring leader Evgeni Malkin to 2011 Hart Trophy winner Corey Perry.

Upon voting, fans are being encouraged to tweet their picks using #NHL13Cover to show support for their favorite players.

Sounds like Malkin's cover to lose, if you ask me.
