GoPro announced on Monday the release of a new Wi-Fi camera pack that allows users to control up to 50 GoPro cameras at the same time using a smartphone, a tablet, or a Wi-Fi remote control. New software that's coming soon will allow people to live stream their GoPro video directly to the internet.
To show off the new product's features, GoPro athlete Ryan Sheckler created a short film called "New York City," which was also released Monday, and was created using the Wi-Fi remote and 50 GoPro cameras.
Sheckler's film shows a skate through New York, including the Manhattan Bridge, Chinatown, and the Lower East Side skatepark.
"This is something I've always wanted to do," Scheckler said in a release. "To skate through a part of New York City that thousands of people ride through every week, feeling the energy of one of the original stomping grounds of street skating. That I finally got to do it and document it with the support of GoPro is awesome. I'm already thinking of my next project and hopefully this inspires other people to realize and document their own creative ideas."
The new product is called the Wi-Fi BacPac and Wi-Fi Remote Combo Kit and it's available now for $99.99. The remote can control up to 50 cameras at once within a range of 600 feet.
