• Linebacker Kent Turene (Lauderdale Lakes, Fla./Boyd Anderson) picked up offers from Nebraska and Minnesota this week and is expecting a slew of college coaches to visit his school in the coming weeks. • Quarterback Kevin Sousa (Lake Nona, Fla./Lake Nona) picked up an offer from Middle Tennessee State Wednesday, joining Central Florida and Florida International. Texas Tech, Tulane and Florida Atlantic have verbally offered. USF, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, Michigan, Auburn, Florida and Notre Dame all have spoken with Sousa's coach and plan to evaluate the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder during the spring evaluation period.• Duke remains the leader for defensive end Desmond Floyd (Union, S.C./Union County) over North Carolina State, Kentucky and South Carolina. The 6-4, 232-pounder favors the Blue Devils because of his relationship with their coaching staff and the academic program at the university.• Speaking of Duke, the Blue Devils are showing interest in wide receiver Courtney Moshood (Miami/La Salle). He is an under-the-radar sleeper from South Florida with good speed and hands. He was solid at the Miami Nike Football Training Camp in March.• There is quite a buzz right now about Class of 2012 defensive tackle Dakota Ball (Lindale, Ga./Pepperell). Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Maryland and South Carolina have issued early verbal offers to the 6-2, 285-pounder.
