The No. 2 quarterback in the country and 20th-ranked prospect overall, Gunner Kiel is committed to play for in-state Indiana next fall. After the Hoosiers' ugly offensive display on Saturday, you can bet the Indiana staff can't wait for Kiel to get on campus. The Hoosiers scored just 10 points against a Penn State defense that was missing two key players, this coming after scoring just 41 total points against lowly North Texas and Ball State. It looks like Kiel will receive little resistance from the current quarterbacks on the roster when he arrives on campus and has a great shot at opening the season as the starter.Warren Central defense will lose a lot, but not its leader
At least seven seniors on the Warren Central (Indianapolis) defense will be signing FBS scholarships in February, but possibly the most integral part of its defense will be back for one more season. ESPNU 150 Watch List linebacker Tim Kimbrough doesn't have ideal height, but he brings the wood and is always around the football. He missed a couple of tackles this weekend, but he's an impressive athlete with top-end speed for the position.Freshman could be special at Carmel
Carmel coach Kevin Wright has a couple of state championships to his name and rarely has to lean on freshmen. At the end of the game against Warren Central, though, he did just that. As Carmel tried to put the game on ice and faced a critical third down, Wright ran a toss to freshman running back Chris Perkins, who made a few defenders miss -- most notably Kimbrough -- to pick up the first down. On Carmel's go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter, it was a fake sweep to Perkins that drew nearly the entire defense up to allow for the easy play-action touchdown.Ohio State not helping its 2012 recruiting cause
