Steve Elmer Commits to ND

Midlands (Mich.) offensive lineman Steve Elmer, one of the top Class of 2013 recruits in the state of Michigan, committed to Notre Dame while visiting the school on Saturday. Elmer also had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Syracuse and Wisconsin.There were concerns about how the 0-2 start at Notre Dame would affect recruiting, but early indications show it was of little concern to commits and potential recruits. Elmer committed before the Irish beat the Spartans, and four-star Class of 2012 running back William Mahone (Youngstown, Ohio/Austintown-Fitch) officially visited Saturday as well. The Irish are the favorites to land Mahone.
