Travis Benjamin returns to practice for Chargers

SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers got good news Thursday, with receiver Travis Benjamin (knee), cornerback Brandon Flowers (concussion) and strong safety Jahleel Addae (clavicle) all returning to practice.

All three were listed as limited participants on San Diego's injury report.

Chargers head coach Mike McCoy indicated this week that he was hopeful Benjamin would play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Flowers had not practiced since suffering a concussion in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. Addae had not participated in practice since suffering a broken clavicle in a Week 2 contest against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McCoy said he would have to see if both players are healthy over the next few days before making a decision on their availability Sunday.

"We've got to make sure that they're physically ready to play," McCoy said. "And that's the most important thing, so when they do step on the field, they're in shape. We know they know what to do. They're both intelligent, smart players.

"But the big thing is that they're ready to play physically. There's a process that you go through with every player. Every player is different, and every injury is different, so we'll make that decision in the next couple of days if we think they're ready to go or not."

Outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu (ankle) was the only Chargers player who did not practice Thursday. If Attaochu can't play Sunday, the Chargers could promote edge-rusher Chris Landrum from the practice squad to the active roster for depth and special teams play.

Swing tackle Chris Hairston (groin), linebacker Denzel Perryman (shoulder) and running back Dexter McCluster (hamstring) were full participants for a second straight day.
