Congrats to Bellevue (Wash.) High, whichreturned to the field three days after a scary bus crash and advanced to the Washington 3A state title game with a 28-6 win over Capital yesterday, reports Tom Wyrwich of The Seattle Times. The Wolverines (13-0) earned a spot in the 3A state championship game against No. 4 Union (13-0) of Vancouver on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Tacoma Dome. Bellevue is at No. 43 in the latest FAB 50 and ranked second in the state behind 4A power Skyline.

• Keith Farner of The Anderson Independent-Mail breaks down the South Carolina state title games on deck for this weekend. It's a shame that FAB 50 ranked South Pointe and Byrnes don't matchup so we could possibly really know who the top team in the state is, but both teams should be in for dogfights as South Pointe has a rematch with crosstown rival Northwestern in the 4A DII game, while Byrnes clashes with Sumter (12-2) in the 4A DI final.

• Warren Wolf, New Jersey's winningest coach with a record of 361-122-11 in 51 seasons, officially retired Monday during a ceremony at Brick High, reports The Newark Star-Ledger. The 81-year old Wolf registered six state titles, eight undefeated seasons, 31 division titles and remarkably only had three losing seasons in his 51 years. He is the only head coach Brick High has ever has. Wolf's successor has not been named.

Gabbert
• Ballwin (Mo.) Parkway West junior QB Tyler Gabbert, the younger brother of current Missouri freshman and 2007 Elite 11 MVP Blaine Gabbert, is up to three early scholarship offers after being offered by Missouri over Thanksgiving break. The 6-foot-0, 180 pounder, who threw for 1,900 yards and 18 TDs this fall with just five interceptions, is already hearing from schools across the country and now has offers from Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska and also FBS (Division I-AA) school Western Carolina. "With the process really beginning for him, he is open at this point and does not have a preference," says Tyler's father Chuck Gabbert. "I am sure we will visit several schools for Junior Day and spring games and it should be fun." Gabbert also looks forward to attending a Nike Camp and EA SPORTS Elite 11 regional camp this coming spring.
