It seems Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha always has a half dozen FBS level prospects and 2012 will be no different. One of the best the Stags have to offer is defensive lineman
Mike Moore. The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder is a pass-rushing specialist who started every game this past season and finished with eight sacks. Several schools have taken notice and three have already offered a scholarship."Tennessee, Rutgers and Virginia have already offered." Moore said. "I'm hearing from schools from coast-to-coast and every conference. I'm just now starting to sort things out. I received my Rutgers offer at their junior day which was a good visit."I'm definitely going to be looking at the academics of all the schools that are interested in me. When I visit a school, I want to see more than the football facilities. I need to know that I'm going to get a good education."I'm not going to name favorites or give a wish list of schools right now because I'm completely open. I want to wait and see who offers and visit some schools before I begin to sort things out."
Peterson's versatility an assetLovell Peterson (Huber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) started every game as a sophomore and made all the line calls for a high-powered offense that starred Ohio State signee
Braxton Miller. Peterson started to hear from colleges at the beginning of the year and things haven't slowed down a bit."I think I showed my versatility this year," said the 6-3, 260-pounder. "I started at left tackle this year and moved to center after our starting center was injured. I can play any position on the line and that's a selling point for sure."I see there are some sophomores out there with scholarship offers but I'm still waiting. I've been to Cincinnati a couple of times on unofficial visits and I might go on a few more visits before the spring but I'm not sure yet."I'm still deciding on the camps or combines I'm attending this spring or summer. Nothing has been decided yet. I'm hearing from a bunch of schools right now. The schools that I'd like to receive a scholarship from are Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma, Michigan State, Texas, Boise State, Oklahoma State, Michigan and Cincinnati."
Big WR ready for junior daysA 2012 prospect that's starting to get looks from college recruiters is
Adrian Jenkins Jr. (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast). The 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver has started the past two seasons on the varsity for the Seminoles."I have a scholarship offer from Bethune-Cookman right now," Jenkins said. "I'm getting mail from a lot of schools from all over the country and I've been invited to the junior days here in Florida. I'm not sure if I'll make it to any schools yet."The schools I'm looking the hardest at are Cincinnati, Iowa State, Rutgers, Florida State, South Florida, Georgia, Purdue, Florida, Miami (Fla.) and UCLA."Jenkins will be a three-year varsity starter in 2011. He had 25 receptions for 320 yards and six touchdowns as a junior.
Dillard drawing interestJunior tailback Danny Dillard (Venice, Fla.,Venice) is a prospect to watch from the Sunshine State. The 6-2, 200-pounder has been the starter the past two seasons for the Indians. A couple of schools have already offered a scholarship."Western Kentucky and Purdue are my scholarship offers right now," Dillard said. "I've been getting mail since my sophomore year and now the schools that have seen me on film and have come to my school, they are starting to write the personal, hand-written mail."I've been to some of the schools in Florida on unofficial visits but I've yet to get up to the Midwest. I'm going to take a closer look at Purdue and Western Kentucky."The schools I'm looking at the hardest right now are Florida, Florida State, USC, Ohio State, Alabama, Miami (Fla.), Oregon, Wisconsin, LSU and Clemson."Dillard rushed for 1,300 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior.
