A prospect to watch in the Class of 2012 will be defensive lineman Brent Wilkerson (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha). The 6-foot-4, 245-pounder knows all about attention because his teammate is Cyrus Kouandjio, the No. 1-ranked OL in the 2011 class, and he's seen college coaches from coast-to-coast come through the doors at DeMatha."It's definitely been an advantage for me and my teammates having Cyrus getting all the attention," Wilkerson said. "Coaches that came to look at film of Cyrus also got to see me and my teammates on film and in person."I already have scholarship offers from Virginia, North Carolina State, Rutgers and Delaware have offered me a scholarship. I went to Rutgers for their junior day and that's when they offered me a scholarship. I have plans on attending other junior days like Penn State, Georgia Tech, Boston College, LSU, Michigan State and Oregon."The schools I mentioned are at the top of my wish list because they have been recruiting me the hardest and sending me the most hand-written mail. I want all the schools to know that I'm completely open and I'm willing to go to any part of the country to go to school and play my college football."Wilkerson had 10 sacks as a junior and led his team in solo tackles. He also had eight catches for 168 yards on the offensive side of the ball and was an all-league selection.Valentine checking out two junior daysOne can make the argument for defensive tackle Vincent Valentine (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) as the top junior in Illinois. Valentine will be a three-year varsity starter on both sides of the ball in 2011. He has scholarship offers from schools in several major FBS conferences and he's not satisfied."My torn labrum is just about healed up and I'm starting to work out," Valentine said. "I have scholarship offers from Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa, Arkansas, Illinois, Michigan, Auburn, Missouri, Oklahoma and Wisconsin."Now that I'm getting healed up, I'm looking forward to getting back to working out and getting out to some camps and combines. I need to get it going again and show people why all these schools have offered me a scholarship."Valentine said he's going to Missouri's and Kansas State's junior day and that he has family in the Midwest, as well as on the East Coast and West Coast. He says that a scholarship from Auburn is a dream but he must look at the big picture."It's easy to get caught up in the offers," Valentine said. "It's easy to get star struck but I have to realize that they offered because they feel I can play at their program and that motivates me to get better and work harder."Maye drawing interestMarcus Maye (Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity) is considered one of the top junior prospects in the state of Florida. He is an exceptional athlete that starts on both sides of the ball and also handles all of the return duties on special teams. Several schools have already offered."I have played running back, wide receiver, cornerback, quarterback and safety," said the 6-2, 195-pounder. "I think I'll play safety in college but that will be up to the coaches. I have scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.) and South Carolina."I don't have a short list of favorites but the schools that have offered me would be favorites along with Alabama, LSU and Notre Dame."
