Wide receiver Robert Lockhart (Boca Raton, Fla./West Boca Raton) made his first official visit last weekend to Eastern Michigan and he has two more trips planned before signing day. "I really liked the head coach (Ron English) and Coach [Deon] Maddox. I got along well with all the guys on the team and after my visit, I came away impressed enough to keep them as a favorite," said the 6-foot-1, 180-pounder. "I like Eastern Michigan, Virginia Tech (which he will visit Jan. 28) and Kansas State (which he will visit Jan. 23). We'll see what happens after my final two visits. All three schools have offered a scholarship."Walker names some favoritesA junior prospect to watch in Chicago is Martez Walker (Chicago/Brother Rice). The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder will be a three-year varsity starter and was a Pop Warner legend. Walker made a quick entry onto the big stage as a sophomore when he made two eye-popping touchdown runs against rival St. Rita that people simply call the "Rita Runs." Walker says he doesn't have a scholarship offer yet but the hand-written mail is arriving on a daily basis. "Duke, UCLA and USC write hand-written mail every week." Walker said. "There are a lot of schools sending personal mail but I can't name them all. I'm going to visit schools in the spring and hit some camps this summer. Right now I'd say that Wisconsin, Iowa, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, USC, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Purdue and Arkansas are the schools I like the most."Jensen opens eyesGarrett Jensen (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville), a 6-3, 220-pound linebacker, just participated at the Core 6 Invitational earlier this week and opened eyes. "It's all brand new to me," Jensen said. "I'm just taking it all in. I guess I was lucky enough to have Rodney (Coe) and Vincent (Valentine) at the same school so when college coaches came to look at them on film, they saw me. I don't have any offers but there have been a lot of college coaches in our school. I'm going to start going to the junior days that schools offer. I'll also go to some camps and combines to get my name out there. Right now I'm getting a lot of mail. I don't want to rule any schools out so I'm not naming any favorites."Another Walker to watchWalker isn't the only 2012 prospect to watch at Chicago's Brother Rice High School and he isn't the only Walker either. Andrew Walker, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back was moved up to varsity at the end of his freshman year. "We run a three back set at (Brother) Rice so we all have to make sacrifices," Walker said. Martez (Walker) is also being recruited by (FBS) schools so he has to get his carries. I have to get my carries. There are only so many plays and only one football. I think I had about 800 all-purpose yards last season. I don't have any offers but there have been a lot of college coaches in the school talking to our coach (Steve Nye). Iowa, Northwestern, Stanford, Akron, Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Georgia and Florida are the schools I like the most right now."
