Jordan Westerkamp (Lombard, Ill./Montini Catholic), one of the top junior receiver prospects in the Midwest, received his first scholarship offer from Illinois and now several others are starting to follow suit."Illinois, Northwestern, Indiana and Bowling Green have all offered," Westerkamp said. "I have had Purdue, Bowling Green, Boston College, Iowa, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Miami, Ohio and others come to school. I'm also getting a lot of mail from Nebraska, Arizona, Oklahoma, Alabama, Auburn, Connecticut and many others."Westerkamp doesn't have a favorite at this point, but plans on visiting a number of schools starting with Iowa on Jan. 16. Other schools he plans on visiting include Wisconsin, Boston College and Notre Dame, among others.
Bryant pushes back decisionOne of the top undecided Midwest prospects, OG
Chris Bryant (Chicago, Ill./Simeon), had his school choices narrowed to Michigan and Arizona, until there were coaching shakeups at both schools. As a result, the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder said Ohio State might be in the picture and Bryant has decided to cancel his Jan. 21 press conference."I'm going to postpone my decision until the end of January." Bryant said. "I need to see what happens at Arizona and Michigan with the coaching situation. Ohio State is still talking to me and Illinois is in the picture."

De'Van Bogard. "I don't have any scholarship offers yet," Bogard said. "Our coaches handle all the recruiting for us. I've been hearing from a ton of schools and I'm completely open. I was planning on going to the Army combine in San Antonio but I had to cancel that trip. I'm going to hit a bunch of camps and combines in the spring and summer."
Purdue offers RossOne of the top Midwest linebacker prospects in the 2012 class,
James Ross (Orchard Lake, Mi./St. Mary's), already has scholarship offers from Michigan, Michigan State and Cincinnati and now another Big Ten school has offered. "Purdue is my latest offer," said the 6-0, 215-pounder. "I'm hearing from schools in just about every conference. I can't name a leader right now. I'd really like to play in the Under-Armour All-America Game next year. That's a goal of mine.
