Warren Central High School in Indianapolis is becoming a must-stop for college recruiters. The Warriors are sending FBS level prospects to the next level on a yearly basis. Linebacker Jordan Wallace is one of several prospects in the Class of 2012 to receive early scholarship offers. "I have a scholarship offer from Toledo right now," Wallace said. "Several schools have been in contact sending hand-written mail." Wallace had 97 total tackles this past season with 13 tackles for loss. "He'll play at 225 pounds in college," said Warren Central defensive coordinator Steve Tutsie. "He's a true inside linebacker that's really good in the box. He needs to work on his speed and quickness but he's extremely tough. He's wrestling at 215 pounds."Louisville, Indiana, Purdue, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Illinois and Texas A&M are recruiting Wallace the hardest right now.Neal down to twoMatt Neal (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville) was hoping to follow in the footsteps of his brother, Mike Neal, and play football in the Big Ten but that doesn't look like it's going to happen right now. "Our season could've been better," Neal said. "I thought I had a decent year but my coaches said I played a lot better than I give myself credit for." The 6-foot-3, 265-pounder was a two-way starter for the Pirates this past season. "I've been told defensive tackle or guard," Neal said. "It doesn't matter to me which side of the ball I play. I just want to get on the field and help my team win. I've narrowed things down to Toledo and Indiana State. I'm torn between the schools and I'll make a decision after I visit both schools in January before making a decision."Baird still looking aroundTis the season for coaching changes and that means prospects who gave a coach a verbal commitment in June only to have that coach fired in November ends up with his recruitment in limbo. That's the case with defensive end Bryan Baird (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook), who committed to Ball State. "I really haven't made any solid decision yet," said the 6-4, 225-pounder. "I've spoken with coach (Pete) Lembo and he seems like a good guy but I'm just really going to have to meet him and the staff before I make a final decision. I'm looking at some other schools as a Plan B so that's kind of where I'm at right now."
