Defensive lineman Chase Hounshell (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) gave Florida his verbal commitment before his senior season. There were several reasons for that decision, including the chance to play for Urban Meyer. Hounshell was stunned when Meyer stepped down as coach of the Gators but after a phone conversation with new Florida boss Will Muschamp and an official visit, Hounshell remains a solid commitment. "I had a great time on my official visit," Hounshell said. "I had some great conversations with coach Muschamp. The best way I can describe him is that he's a southern Urban Meyer with a lot of energy. I'm looking forward to getting down to Gainesville and getting to work. I was planning on graduating early but I'm not sure about that anymore.
