College football recruiting seems to be moving at a record pace these days. If you don't have a spectacular junior season, or put together a super highlight film or hit the camp and combine circuit during the summer, it's easy to fall off the radar of college recruiters. There's very little wiggle room for the late blooming senior prospect. That makes it tough on players like 6-foot-6. 295-pound offensive lineman Graham Glasgow (Aurora, Ill./Marmion Academy). The basketball star turned football player is just now beginning to hit his stride. "Well there's no question that I feel Graham has been overlooked," said Marmion offensive line coach Kurt Becker, who played at Michigan and in the NFL for the Chicago Bears. "Graham is a kid that's a late bloomer. He has not even come close to his stride. He's a great athlete that's just learning the game of football right now and he has made tremendous strides this season.Graham is easily a 300-pound tackle and he's got the feet to go with that size. I think Graham has a great future ahead of him. I really don't know what college coaches are looking for anymore but I know that they do look for size. If you look at just size alone Graham jumps off the page."It just took a little bit to get Glasgow to commit to football. "At this time last year Graham still thought he was a basketball player," Marmion coach Dan Thorpe said. "Last January, Graham started to get mail from colleges for football and not basketball and that lit a fire under him. He started working hard in the weight room. Graham has strong hands, he's athletic and he's got very good feet. There's no doubt in my mind that he could play at the next level. Hopefully the exposure from the state championship game will help him get noticed."Glasgow does have an FBS scholarship offer."Eastern Michigan has offered me a scholarship," he said. "I feel that as the season went along I became a better football player. In the seventh game of the season I tore a ligament in my wrist but I played with a cast on. This season has been an incredible experience for all of us and it's been significantly better for me. I'm hearing from a lot of the MAC schools like Northern Illinois and Western Michigan. I'm keeping an open mind right now and listening to all schools that are interested in me."Glasgow carries a 3.6 GPA in the classroom and scored a 27 on his ACT.
