Jud Wienke (Tuscola, Ill./Tuscola) is busy preparing for a state championship game with Lena-Winslow this Friday, but he's also starting to think about life after high school football. "I have been offered scholarships by Western Michigan, Central Michigan and Memphis just offered recently," said the 6-foot-3, 225-pound quarterback. "I haven't set up my official visits. I think what I'll do is wait until after our season is over and I'll sit down with my family and look at schools. I don't have any favorites. I'm going to take my time with a decision." Wienke is nearing the 3,000-yard passing mark on the season. He's the younger brother of former Tuscola all-state quarterback and current Iowa Hawkeye John Wienke.
Walker still waitingKendall Walker (Cincinnati, Ohio/Moeller) was one of the bright spots for the Fighting Crusaders in 2010. Moeller finished the season with a 7-4 record, losing to the Centerville Elks in the first round of the playoffs. "Right now I have offers from Buffalo and Air Force," said the 6-1, 210-pound linebacker. "Northwestern, Akron, Villanova, UConn and a few more MAC schools have been calling me on a regular basis. I've already been to Buffalo and liked it a lot. Hopefully I'll be setting up more visits in the near future."
Hall hearing from BroncosBryce Hall (Melvindale, Mich./Melvindale) says his season didn't go quite as planned, but he did win some postseason honors and his first scholarship offer could come soon. "We went 2-7 as a team," said the 6-3, 260-pound guard. "I had a pretty good year and I'm projected to win some postseason honors. I've been talking to a bunch of MAC schools lately. I've been hearing a lot from Western Michigan and I'm expecting them to be my first scholarship offer."
