Jarrell Williams (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards), who gave Northwestern his verbal commitment during the summer, finished the season with an 8-3 record, losing to perennial power Rockford Boylan in the playoffs. Williams was an all-area and all-conference selection and is likely to be named to the coach's all-state team. "I'm not sure on my stats," said the 5-10, 160-pound cornerback. "I wish we could've gone further in the playoffs but now I'm ready to go to Northwestern for the next chapter. I'm setting up my official visit for the first weekend in December. I'm also looking forward to going to Wrigley Field this weekend for the Northwestern game against Illinois."
Meehan playing the waiting gameWebster Groves (Mo.) High School is making another run at a state championship. The Statesmen are 12-0 right now and they are getting ready to battle with rival Kirkwood in the annual Turkey Bowl game. Linebacker
Jason Meehan, an all-state recipient last year, is having a super senior season. "There's nothing new to report," said the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder. "I'm still getting mail and receiving phone calls from some Big Ten and Big 12 schools. My coach feels that I can play at that level and I do as well. There are a lot of smaller (FCS) programs that said they are waiting to see what happens with me after the season."
No favorites for HammondClass of 2012 wide receiver
Dayne Hammond (Youngstown, Ohio/Boardman) already has a few scholarship offers under his belt. "Ball State and Youngstown State have offered a scholarship," said the 6-6, 180-pounder. "I don't have any favorites right now. If I had to pick a list of schools that I'd be most interested in hearing from right now, they would probably be Wisconsin, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, Hawaii, Michigan State, USC, Florida, Northwestern and Boise State."
