• Earl Miles still waiting on first offer

While it seems most FBS programs are putting the lid on their recruiting classes earlier and earlier these days, many senior prospects are getting overlooked. Schools are offering scholarships based on junior film and by the time the season rolls around, most have secured the verbal commitments needed to move onto the next class. One of these prospects is Earl Miles (Indianapolis, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern). The 6-foot-2, 260-pound defensive tackle has helped his team to a 10-1 record this season and Hamilton-Southeastern season continues Friday night versus cross-town rival Fishers in playoff action."Miles is kind of the forgotten man on Hamilton-Southeastern," said one Indianapolis high school coach. "They have some really good talent. A few of their skilled players (Gary Harris and Randy Gregory) are going to sign with FBS programs. Miles anchors their defensive line and he makes it tough to run against them."Miles says he's trying to keep his head up and concentrate on the season. "We want to win a state championship," said Miles. "We have a big game [Friday] and this is a team (Fishers) that we beat pretty good during the season but we can't overlook them."I have 86 tackles, 67 of which are solos. and four sacks this season. I've had a of schools call and they are still sending mail but no scholarship offers. I'm hoping that there's a school out there that will take a chance on me. I feel like I can play at the next level on either side of the line."Robinson-Berry still likes LouisvilleStaying in Indianapolis, Eric Robinson-Berry (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) says he's still committed to Louisville and plans on signing with the Cards in February."I'm not sure when I'm going to take my official visit," said the 6-1, 185-pound defensive back. "I'll probably visit in December but nothing is set in stone right now. I finished the season with 40 solo tackles and four forced fumbles."Ford's recruitment heating upWhen college recruiters hit the road in December and start visiting schools, one of their stops in Illinois will be to check out linebacker/fullback Perez Ford (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville). Ford is one of the top Illinois targets in the 2012 class. Ford is so athletic, that he's ranked No. 2 in the nation in the decathlon at his age group. "I don't have any offers right now," said the 6-2, 215-pounder. "My dad wants to me to get away and go to school so that's what I think I'm going to do. Nebraska, Miami (Fla.), Penn State, Georgia, Oregon and USC are the schools I'm most interested in right now. I'm sure this will all change by the end of the school year after coaches come through during the spring evaluation period."
