One of the most sought after prospects in the Midwest next year will be defensive tackle Faith Ekakitie (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest Academy). The 6-foot-2, 250-pounder is already drawing rave reviews from recruiters who have stopped by to check out film. "Illinois, Eastern Michigan and Illinois State have all offered me a scholarship," said Ekakitie. "Northwestern, Miami (Ohio), Iowa and the schools that have offered me a scholarship are sending hand-written mail. The schools I'm most interested in playing for are Wisconsin, Arizona, Oregon, Alabama, Nebraska, Georgia, Syracuse, Georgia and Tennessee. I'm getting mail from a ton of schools but I don't think it's necessary to list them all."Warren Central's season ends earlyThe season ended abruptly for perennial power Warren Central out of Indianapolis, Ind. The Warriors looked like they were on their way to another state championship but crosstown rival Lawrence Central and Indiana commit Tre Roberson ended Warren Central's season with a 35-14 playoff thumping. The Warriors are sending Under-Armour All-American Kiaro Holts to North Carolina, defensive tackle Kris Harley to Virginia Tech and linebacker Nick Temple is headed to play for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Warren Central will also have plenty of FBS level recruits next season including running back Deionte Buckley. "I've been getting steady mail from Boston College, Iowa, Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Ball State, Kentucky, Akron and Louisville," said the 5-10, 190-pounder. "Most of my hand-written mail is coming from Ball State. I've yet to catch an offer but I'm hoping that will change here soon."Gray's recruitment picking upStaying in the Hoosier State, there will be plenty of college coaches visiting Indianapolis this spring. Hamilton-Southeastern wide receiver Gary Harris is a major FBS level prospect and so is Aloyis Gray (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike). "Ball State continues to send hand-written mail," said the 6-3, 175-pounder. "Indiana, Purdue, Northwestern, TCU, UCLA, Syracuse and Iowa are the schools recruiting me the hardest right now."
