Just recently National Underclassmen Combines CEO David Schuman announced that his company would have an All-American game on New Year's Eve at The Citadel in South Carolina. The NUC All-World game is the culmination of events that will be happening in Charleston that week. One of those events is a senior "last chance" combine that will be attended by FCS level coaches who are looking for prospects who have slipped through the cracks, so to speak. One of those prospects is
Bryan Bell (Walled Lake, Mi./Walled Lake Central), a 6-foot-4, 298 pound offensive lineman who helped his team to an 8-1 regular season record. The Vikings were city, division and conference champs. "I really don't have a lot going on," said Bell. "Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan and Western Michigan are talking to me. I don't have any scholarship offers."
Carrico not going anywhereOffensive tackle
Brad Carrico (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) says he's still very much committed to Notre Dame. Dublin Coffman has a 7-2 record heading into a big game with Upper Arlington this weekend. Dublin-Coffman needs a win to get into the playoffs. "We need to win to keep our season going," said the 6-foot-6, 270-pounder. "Once the season is over I'll start worrying about recruiting and official visits."
Baird might still look aroundBryan Baird (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) and his Eagles' teammates finished with a 4-5 record this season -- two games better than last seasom. Baird, an all-area and all-conference selection is now turning his attention to recruiting. "I'm still verbally committed to Ball State," said the 6-4, 230-pound defensive end. "Illinois and a few other schools have been talking to me but none of the schools have offered me a scholarship. I may take a few official visits before I sign my letter of intent."
Ness still likes Ball StateRice and Southern Methodist offered
Andrew Ness (St. Louis, Mo./C.B.C) a scholarship before the season, but it looks like he'll be playing his college football a little closer to home. "I'm committed to Ball State," said the 6-4, 295-pound center. "I really clicked with the coaches at Ball State especially offensive line coach Phil Burnett. I'm not sure when I'm going to be taking my official visit. We have a 7-1 record right now and play Lafayette this weekend."
