A quarterback prospect to watch in the Class of 2012 is Troy Bitterle (Portage, Mich./ Portage Northern). He was a regular on the combine circuit last summer and attended several of the Steve Clarkson Dreammaker Quarterback Camps as well. "I receive letters from Akron, Nebraska and Illinois every day," said the 6-foot-2, 180-pound gunslinger. "Nebraska, Illinois, Northwestern, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Michigan and Rutgers are the schools that I'm the most interested in right now. I'm hearing from about 30 schools on a regular basis right now." Portage Northern has a 7-1 record heading into the regular season with St. Joseph.Gorski checking out Big Ten schoolsOffensive tackle Tim Gorski (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) has helped his team to an 8-0 record this season heading into this weekend's final season tilt against Loyola Academy. Gorski lines up at tight end for the Mustangs and will play some situational defense, but his future is at offensive tackle. "I have scholarship offers from Central Michigan, Toledo, Western Kentucky and Illinois State," said the 6-7, 250-pounder. "I've been to a lot of Big Ten schools for games this year including Purdue last weekend. I'm still looking at Purdue, Northwestern, Iowa and few other schools. I don't have any of my official visits set yet. I'm going to wait until after the season to do that."Relying on basketball recruitCoach Craig Buzea has led his team to a 7-2 record this season and part of the Vikings' success has to be attributed to quarterback Tim Williams (Flossmoor, Ill./Flossmoor). The 6-7, 220-pounder is a basketball recruit but playing football isn't out of the question for the 2012 graduate. "Most of the schools right now are looking at me for basketball," said Williams. "I'm open to playing football. I'm starting to get some mail and some interest. If I were going to play football in college, I'd say that Illinois, Ohio State, Purdue, Cal, Nevada, Oregon State and Michigan."
