Brownsburg (Ind.) Bulldogs
Head coach: Brett Comer
Team overview: Comer, in his fifth season as head coach, played at Brownsburg and was an all-state selection his senior season on a team that won a state championship in 1985. Brownsburg also won a state title in 1984. Brownsburg won a sectional title last season for the first time in 24 years. The Bulldogs are 6-1 this season, with their only loss coming to rival Avon.
Prospect history: Matt Hefner (Ball State) and Mike Bandy (Indiana State) were both tremendous players for Brownsburg. Recently, Jamie Comer, the son of Brett Comer, was an all-state selection and now plays at Illinois State. Chris Jones is a starter this year for Bowling Green and Charles Torwodzo is a freshman wide receiver for Purdue.
Top prospects: Kicker
Kyle Christy has already committed to Florida. Defensive back Torey Nibbs is a three-year starter at strong safety. Robby Robbins is a dual-threat quarterback who could play some defense at the next level.
Juniors to watch: Jordan Reagan, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound running back, and Isaac Beverstock, a 6-1, 200-pound fullback, will get looks from college recruiters. Brownsburg is a flex-bone team and as Reagan and Beverstock go, so go the Bulldogs.
New face: Sophomore running back Chase Dutra (6-1, 180 pounds) leads the team in rushing and Comer says Dutra is an exceptional athlete who could play on either side of the ball.
Keep an eye on: Defensive back Garrett Iach (6-2, 180 pounds) is another sophomore starter for the Bulldogs and a future D-I prospect. Iach is a tremendous tackler and has excellent ball skills.
