Collin Perchinske (Cleveland, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) had several MAC offers on the table heading into the summer and he made a verbal commitment after an unofficial visit. "I'm committed to Ball State," said the 6-foot-5, 260-pound defensive lineman. "I chose Ball State mainly because of my relationship with defensive line coach [Phil Burnett]. Ball State also has strong academics and they are good in the field that I want to study. All in all it seemed like the best fit for me and I get to play defensive line which was a huge part in me coming to this decision."
Patton still has Cincy as his leaderThe last time we spoke with
Darius Patton (Poland, Ohio/Seminary) he was leaning towards Cincinnati. Have things changed? "Cincinnati is still my leader," said the 5-10, 170-pound wide receiver. "Cincinnati has a little lead but I'm not ready to commit. They recently got a commitment from another kid in Ohio (
Shaquille Washington (Maple Heights, Ohio/Maple Heights)) who also plays wide receiver and is the same size as I am. I don't think I'm close to a commitment yet. There are still a lot of good schools out there that I like. Michigan State, West Virginia and I'm still looking at Ohio State. Right now I still plan on taking some official visits and finding the best fit."
Lisenby still waitingJosh Lisenby (Chicago/De La Salle) looks like he lives in the weight room and he's the type of football player and young man that you want on your football team. Every time I turned around this past spring and summer, I saw him at a camp or combine. Lisenby was named camp MVP at the NUC Ultimate 100 in Indianapolis, performed exceptionally well at both the Under Armour and Nike Camp but he's still waiting for a scholarship offer because college coaches don't know where he projects. Is the 6-2, 245-pounder quick enough to play defensive end? Can he put on weight, move inside and play defensive tackle? Is he fast enough to move to offense and be a fullback? Can he put on the needed weight and play center or guard? These are all questions that need to be answered. "I've camped just about everywhere you can imagine," Lisenby said. "I camped at Ball State and I went to Northwestern for their showcase camp. I'm just going to have to play hard this year and wait for that first scholarship offer."
