Jake Bernstein (Crystal Lake, Ill./South) is one of several FBS offensive linemen from Illinois with several scholarship offers. He has seen his stock rise steadily throughout the spring and summer and he's close to giving a verbal commitment. "I have offers from Illinois, Indiana, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati, Arizona, Northern Illinois, Central Michigan, Wyoming, Colorado, and Memphis," said the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder. "I plan on making a verbal soon. I visited Vanderbilt, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Purdue." Bernstein had 66 pancake blocks and was named all area and all conference as a junior.•
Teddy Corwin (St. Louis/DeSmet) is a prospect to keep an eye on this year. DeSmet High School is once again loaded with talent and Corwin, who had a very good junior season, is ready to take his game to the next level. "Right now I have scholarship offers from Illinois State and Eastern Illinois," said the 6-5, 225-pound defensive end/tight end. "I have a verbal offer from Southern Illinois but nothing in writing yet. I went to camps at Missouri, Illinois, Northern Illinois, Western Kentucky, South Florida and Southern Illinois. I still plan on camping at Ole Miss and Iowa State this month. I don't have a time frame on making a decision. If I get the right scholarship offer before the season, I'll commit. If I don't, I would wait until after the season."• Wide receiver
Devonte Majors (O'Fallon, Mo./Ft. Zumwalt West) picked up his first scholarship offers. "Illinois State and Western Illinois have both offered me a scholarship," said the 6-2, 220-pounder. "I went to a ton of camps this summer. Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kanas and Northwestern, and all of these schools had MAC coaches working them so I was able to get more exposure than normal. Later this month, I'm camping at Iowa State and Kansas State. I visited Illinois State last week and really liked what I saw. Coach [Brock] Spack coached [at Purdue] and I feel very comfortable with him and the rest of the coaches at ISU."
