Player X is an anonymous MLB star. This is his third column.
BASEBALL PLAYERS HAVE it pretty good when it comes to our relationships with our team's owners. Most are not too busy counting their cash to understand we risk long-term disability without the proper health care, like NFL owners evidently are. And our salaries are not as bloated as in the NBA, where they are supposedly causing owners to lose money by the boatload. Yeah, we have a pretty cushy deal. Owners want happy players and players want rich owners who give their GMs control of big payrolls.
But bosses will be bosses.
