So this is my first blog post here at espnW but definitely not my last. I think a good start would be to tell you a little bit about me.

I'm Caroline Seger. I'm 26 years old (believe it or not) and I play women's professional soccer with the Western New York Flash. I am also the captain of the Swedish national team.

I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old. My dad was a soccer coach for a boys' team, and I fell in love with the ball as soon as I was introduced to it. I played with boys until I turned 12, and then it got way too complicated because things started to happen with my body. (Smile)

Like many young Swedish players, I had a dream to one day play with the team that was blue and yellow. They finally started a girls' team in my area, where I played for a year. After that, my career just kept on until I turned 19 and I made the national team.

My dream came true, and now I've played 77 caps and four big tournaments for my country.

My life besides soccer is pretty simple. In my free time I do the same as the rest of my teammates, eat and sleep.

This year I'll be going to the World Cup in Germany, while also playing for the Flash. I'm going to share it all with you. Stick around, because it's about to get crazy.
